Do I need to buy anything special for the Transition to Digital Television?
If you have a satellite dish you're all set.
If you have cable you'll be ok as long as the cable TV line is intact.
If there is any break in the line or loss of power, your cable will be out until their crews fix the problem.
What about power and cable company outages?
Maine Link recommends purchasing one Digital converter if you have Cable TV. In an emergency like the Ice Storm of '98 where some Cable TV customers went without TV for up to two months, if you have a generator and a digital converter, you would still get your local over the air channels.
If you have a satellite dish and a generator you would have your full service, pay-per views and movie stations if you purchased them. Click here for Maine Link's current Dish Network specials.
If I need a converter is there someone who could come out and help me install one?
Yes, Maine Links trained technicians are ready to come to your home and assist you in the installation. Pricing is based on where you live, if you have already purchased your digital converter(s), and the number of converters you would like to have installed.
I just bought a new TV; will I need a digital converter?
Chances are, No, the newer TVs have been manufactured to accommodate the transition to digital television .
So if I have a digital converter I'm all set?
Not necessarily. Digital signals are either on or off, so if your current reception is questionable at times, the digital box may not work at all.
Is there a better solution?
The solution........ With a good line of site at our orbiting satellites, you have worry free TV with a Maine Link installed satellite dish. Call today, or click here for Maine Link's current Dish Network specials.
